Open-Playtest

The concept behind the open-playtest is simple.

  • 1) It is open to anyone
  • 2) You download one or more of the adventures and play them with your friends
  • 3) Give us a useful feedback and we will send you the final PDF including all the adventures as a thank you.

Why?

The short answer is because we want to make our adventures as good as they can possibly be.

The longer answer is that we believe there is a wealth of raw writing talent out there and we want to turn that talent it into great adventures. Constructive feedback is the best way for new writers to learn so we want as wide a range of people to offer advice as possible.

How Do I Take Part?

Download the one of the current PDFs (COMING SOON), print it out and run it. At the back of the adventure you will find a form to fill in. You don’t need this but it will help you focus on what is important. Once you’ve run the adventure (or even just read through it), go back to where you downloaded the adventure and leave us your feedback.

Useful Feedback

Neither saying an adventure is rubbish nor saying it is great is useful feedback to 6d6 and the adventure’s writer. We need to know why you did or did not like it?

Please go into as much detail as possible. There is no such thing as too much feedback to a play test session. If you are wondering what sort of things we want to know about, here are some ideas.

1) Plot

Did the plot make sense? Did you find any holes or problems with the plot when you ran the game.

2) Gameplay

Was the adventure challenging enough? Were there enough fights or opportunities for role playing?

3) Mistakes and Weaknesses

Did you spot errors with the NPC’s stats or other game mechanics? Could the NPC’s tactics or spell selection be better?

4) Maps and Layout

How easy was it find the information you were looking for? Where the maps clear and precise?

5) Grammar and That Sort of Stuff

Was the writing style easy to read? Did you spot any spelling mistakes?

6) The Best and the Worst

What was the best thing about the adventure and what was the worst?
