I miss my post-apocalypse games. Aftermath! was the undisputed king of the genre and this artwork / character concept from the art studio Massive Black would have made a brilliant character. The patchwork of clothing and armour combined with the vicious dog and the RPG would fit in perfectly in almost any post-apocalyspe scenario.

Last weeks post, This is not just a +1 Sword, this is a M&S +1 Sword was inspired because I was reading several of Jerry Ahern’s Survivalist series of books. These pulp, action hero, post-apocalypse books were a favourite of mine in my teens and twenties. Many years on they are so bad they are [...]
Killer Plants on the Loose
John Wyndham’s classic book, Day of the Triffids, is about to be remade into a new BBC two parter. Written in 1951, the book starts with an unexplained phenomena blinding most of the world’s population. This would be bad enough except the world is heavy dependent on the Triffids. 6′ Tall, [...]
D&D dominates the RPG world but there are many different types of games out there. Rather than which specific rule system you prefer, we want to know what types of systems you prefer.

Even better, they are have plans to launch new products: Aftermath! Technology! 2.0, an updated version to the never [...]
One of my favourite games during the 80’s was Aftermath!, the post-apocalypse game by Fantasy Games Unlimited. A highly flexible rule system that could be used for gritty, post-nuclear campaigns to quick zombie filled scenarios based on Dawn of the Dead. I loved the game system and it is the only system where I have [...]
As a long-time fan of post-apocalypse scenarios in games, books and TV, massive asteroid strikes have always attracted me. Their unstoppable nature and the amount of damage they can do create the perfect doomsday scenario. The best example of this is Niven & Pournelle’s book Lucifer’s Hammer which is far better than any of [...]
